There is this amazing stall at the market i go to often, At this stall is just buckets of cupcake liners, all diff styles and shapes and sizes. The also have a bunch of decorating tools and items. I finally noticed last time I was there they had flavourings. Normally I pass over flavourings since I have a large bunch and I really not a fan of using artificial colours and flavours, But a bright green on got my attention. Honeydew flavour. How often do you find that?
Honeydew Melon Cupcakes.
Makes approx 12
1 Cup Plain Flour( may need o add 1/8 Cup more or so)
1/2 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Milk
2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tsp Baking Powder
3 Tbs Butter(Softened)
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Honeydew flavouring ( This can be found in some candy shops, If you have loranns candy flavouring use it lightly and not 1tsp)
Frosting ( Honeydew Butter cream)
1 Cup butter, softened2 1/2 Cups Powdered sugar1 Tsp milk1 Tsp vanilla extract
Cupcakes:
Preheat Oven to 180C/350F
In a bowl, blend your butter and sugar till fully mixed. Sift together Flour, baking powder and salt. Mix the flour and milk into the butter and sugar mixture until fully blended, Add your vanilla and Honey flavouring and mix until blended. Fill your cupcake cups and bake for 15-20 mins
Note: This is a basic cupcake recipe I've made myself , that I find works very well for random flavourings, Its simple and pretty moist, If you want to use a diff flavor, just omit the honeydew flavor and add your own
Frosting
Cream you butter until smooth. Add in your flavourings and mix until blended. Add in Powdered sugar in 1/2 cup amounts at a time until it is sweet enough for you. Add in Milk and blend until perfectly smooth!
Decorate and Enjoy!
